Little Elm Aquatic Center

Project Location: Little Elm, TX

The town of Little Elm, part of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex, is expanding its municipal recreation facility with the addition of a 42,000 s.f. multi-story aquatic center.  The new structure includes a retractable roof enclosure for year-round fun. LTC continued its successful partnership with D&S Engineering Labs on this project.  The 30” diameter, 53’ deep augercast test pile was installed by L G Barcus and Sons.  As typical for ACIP test in Texas, a W-section carrying beam was used to position the Load Test Assembly, compression telltales and strain gage instruments into the pile, making for a quick assembly and easy pick and install.  The test results validated the design and the new aquatic center is on schedule to open in 2021.
